We have two training days available in the lead up to the 2026 race.

These are HIGHLY recommended if you are a complete newbie, have a tendency to get geographically misplaced or would simply like to brush up on your skills. Our qualified guides will teach you navigation skills and provide tips and tricks to help make your race day experience even better!!

WHEN? WHERE?

Session 1: 

• 13th September 10 am - 4 pm. 
  On foot navigation - Wairarapa - Location TBA

Session 2: 

• 4th October 10 am - 4 pm.

• On foot navigation - Otaki Gorge

COST

Only $80 per person per session for Big Bang entrants, $110 for non- Big Bangers.

We have strict ratios for these days, for safety reasons, and a minimum of 8 to make the session work. If minimum numbers are not met you will be advised and a refund, less $10 pp admin fee given, or the option to transfer to another session. If you pull out we offer a 50% refund.

You can opt into these days when you go through the registration process.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

We will supply maps of the route for the day and expert professional instruction. You must bring with you the compulsory kit required for race day.

You will not need a support crew, we will start and finish at the same spot (or as hardened adventure racers you can walk back to the car!)
